2020 LUCA Abstract

The 2020 Census is fast approaching, and the first Geographic Partnership Program that the Census Bureau offers to local governments is the Local Update of Census Addresses (LUCA) operation. LUCA is the one and only opportunity for county and municipal governments to compare their address lists with the Census Bureau’s Master Address File (MAF) to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the Census address list that will be used in 2020 Census operations. This presentation will introduce and explain importance the LUCA program, and define participation methods. In addition, I will give a brief overview how to prepare for of the LUCA program and updated on local government registration status in the state of Florida.

William Curry

William Curry is one of three geographers at the Atlanta regional office.  William is a graduate of National Louis University.  William began his Census career in 1999 at Headquarters in Suitland, MD, where he worked in the Geography Division as Cartographer and Geographer where he involved in numerous geographic programs for the 2000 Census.  In 2007, he transferred to the Atlanta Regional Office where he was involved in numerous regional geographic programs for the 2010 Census.
