Digging Deeper: Detailed GIS Data Management for NG9-1-1

NG9-1-1 will bring many new GIS data management considerations when it comes to coalescing and validating data from multiple data sources and utilizing that data for location validation and geospatial call routing.  From road centerlines and address point maintenance best practices, to emergency response and PSAP boundary creation, this detail-oriented session will cover data management suggestions and best practices to ensure your data is ready.

Speaker Bio:

Jason Blalock

Jason Blalock is a SR. Solutions Engineer for GIS at West’s Safety Services.  In this role, he is dedicated to developing and providing geospatial technology solutions that enhance the use of GIS-based data for location accuracy within emergency communications.  Mr. Blalock’s expertise brings a broad perspective to the application of advanced systems in emergency response.  Committed to providing detailed technical specifications to easily deploy solutions, he remains steadfast in his ability to understand and teach non-technical customers and still reach extremely advanced audiences. 

Prior to joining West, he served the GIS industry as both a Regional Technical Manager and a District Manager for Pictometry, providing his expertise for custom GIS databases and GIS Programming services.  Mr. Blalock obtained a Bachelor of Science from Austin Peay State University as well as a Master’s degree in Management.
